Arlington Field Lab is the home of videos, broadcasts, music, physical media, handmade objects, and ideas that do not fit comfortably into a single category.
The Lab is operated by Darrel Smith, a musician, editor, collector, and lifelong maker of things. Alongside AFL’s original productions, Darrel works with artists, bands, podcasters, filmmakers, small businesses, and other people who need help recording, editing, developing, or finishing a project.
AFL produces an expanding network of ongoing projects, including Channel 87 UHF, Radio Free Arlington, Darrel’s Guide to Action Figures, Arlington Video Vault, and independent music releases from Sign Guy Records.
Some work happens digitally. Some happens on cassette tape. Some ends up online, and some becomes a physical object assembled by hand. The method depends on what the project needs.
Arlington Field Lab works with local clients in the Arlington and Fort Worth area and accepts remote audio and video editing projects from anywhere.
